Dangerfield Floppy Hat, Le Black Book Heart Suspender Stockings, YSL Arty Ovale Ring in Azure, ANNIEPOPSHOP Cuff, Alive Girl Skull Skirt, Mink Pink Top  [Photographed by: Photos For Kimberly]

A few weeks ago, Kimberly and I had a spontaneous day at the park with her camera. The last time we did something like this would have been nearly two years ago, can you believe it! I admit that it's been so long since I've been photographed outdoors and around actual human beings that it was hard for me to shake out of my awkwardness. I'm lucky Kimb has a good eye so we managed to get some pictures I could still use for today's blog post haha

And for those that follow my Facebook fanpage, last month I finally committed to buying myself the Crystal Accented Chronograph watch. All through the beginning of the year I've been at war with myself on whether or not to get the gold or rose gold, so I had a poll put up on my fan page and the majority of you convinced me to get the rose gold. Couldn't be happier with my decision, thank you for those that helped me decide :)

The Girl I Love Dress by Three of Something, Cuff & Ring by ANNIEPOPSHOP

I could be wrong, but I think this is the first time I've blogged in a maxi. Those that know me would know that its a rare sighting to see me in a maxi dress or long pants, they're two items of clothing that don't particularly flatter my shape. But I guess the high neck, open back and slit skirt of The Girl I Love dress by Three of Something is making me come around to the idea. There are also plenty more prints and dresses from their Spring and Summer 2012 campaigns that I have my eye on! To view it click here.

And for those that don't already know: I'm giving away three Clearasil PerfectaWashes, I've featured the PerfectaWash in my YouTube videos so if you'd like to give the product a try all you have to do is leave your name, email and why you'd like to win a PerfectaWash in the comment section. There haven't been a lot of entries so it gives you a really good running chance! :)

Zombie by Night

Every time a dress up party is in order I get pretty stumped on what to wear and end up spending $$ on a costume that's only going to be used once...so this year I want to do something a little different and a little cheaper.

Turning myself into a Zombie cost me a total of $13.50 and it ended up being the least expensive but the best costume I've had. I hope I get better at this as the years go by!

As a side note, if you're planning to rock this look, make sure that you prep your skin before you start using the liquid latex and that you're using a good cleanser as after-care. In this video I'll show you how to get this zombie look but also how you should be taking care of your skin using the Clearasil PerfectaWash so that it stays nourished underneath all the scary makeup. I don't know about you but after wearing this around for a day I think I'd start missing my smooth skin so maintaining it pre and post makeup is always going to be a top to-do!

Buttoned Up by Day

Saturday, October 20, 2012

A while ago I also visited the Joe Button office to custom design my own shirt dress which was pretty exciting! I've been meaning to post up these photos for a while but I just came back from yet another trip to Melbourne so I haven't had the chance to until now. Unfortunately my camera couldn't pick up the detailings of the easy slip on fabric until the very last picture featuring their cute as a button signature cufflinks!

PhotobucketPhotobucket Photobucket

I love the subtle chevron and I can wear it as a shirt or a dress and with any belt or cufflinks I please. If you're thinking about designing your own Joe Button shirt or shirt dress, now is probably the best time than ever to get your hands on their new Spring prints!

You know how much of a floral fan I am, all of the above please!

How to: Flawless Skin in Photos video

Monday, October 15, 2012

After years of using a PC, I’ve finally converted to Mac and I’m the proud new mum of the new MacBook Pro 15” retina display! To celebrate it, I decided to take full advantage of my new found laptop functionalities and I’ve created a YouTube video to show you how I get my skin photo-ready.

I pretty much reveal 2 of my skin secrets:

The first is how I keep my skin clear of pimples and that’s all thanks to my amazing Clearasil PerfectaWash which is only $19.99 RRP in store. You’ll see in my video how the PerfectaWash automatically dispenses just the amount you need to use it daily (morning and night!) to keep your face clean, clear of pimples and not completely dry it out like many other face washes do. It also smells great too, wish you could get that from the video! Haha

My other secret is that I use two different types of foundation to get photo-ready skin. If you’d like to find out what they are, make sure you watch the video below :)

Veet Night Out in Melbourne

Saturday, October 6, 2012

Keep reading to win 1 of 5 EasyWax Roll-on kits I’m giving away! Photobucket So I collated a list of things I absolutely needed from H&M and I noticed a theme.. It’s getting warmer and I’m struck with floral fever again! I’ve been hiding under warm winter layers and its about that time of year that I start letting go. After all, these thick black stockings aren’t going to do these array of florals any good and I’ve got the leg situation completely under control with Veet’s EasyWax Electric Roll On Kit. Speaking of which, here are some snaps from my time in Melbourne for Veet’s Night Out! Photobucket The great people from Veet flew me out to Melbourne last week. Sydney-siders know Melbourne for their food and shops so obviously the first thing I did was grab a bite to go and raid the street boutiques. This has caused me to relapse into my love for A-line skirts and floral button-up tops or blazers. I’m going to be bold this summer and maybe even try out the great galaxy prints that have absolutely bombarded our local retail centres. I’ll slowly do outfit posts with the things I bought from Melbourne as the weeks past but today I’ll recap on my time there and the amazing Veet event that was held at Miss Fox in Melbourne! I was expecting a night of pleasant chatter and canapés with other Sydney and Melbourne Bloggers, I wasn’t disappointed. Much to my surprise Veet were also treating us to a night of pampering! Miss Fox was separated into hair, makeup and nail stations. I got a professional hollywood swoop for my hair and neon nails at the nail bar. I didn’t get to stop by at the makeup station but they didn’t fail to give us great tips all night. Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Funnily enough after the Veet Night Out, I went home to get changed and prepare myself for a night out on the town with a fellow Sydney-sider when Veet’s EasyWax saved my life. We were each given another EasyWax kit at the event and as I changed into my night outfit I popped the wax kit into the powerpoint and it was ready for me to use as soon as I finished getting ready. I didn’t have to worry about it getting on my clothes either because of the way the wax rolls on your skin. Lifesaver!!

How to win an EasyWax Roll On kit for FREE!

To top it all off, I get to share this lifesaver moment with you by giving away Veet EasyWax Roll On kits! I’m giving away one kit (RRP $39.99 each) to 5 lucky readers! Just leave your comment below on why you should win the kit and winners will be announced shortly.

Also a big Congratulations to the lovely Amanda that has been notified as being the winner of the Veet Night Out giveaway!

Before I left to Melbourne I got to join in on the behind the scenes action down at Show Pony HQ. Watching the girls shoot through hundreds of outfits in one night made me realize two things:
  1. How much my wardrobe is lacking of day dresses, swag hats and festival tops to prepare me for the upcoming months and..
  2. How walking around in Lady Gaga-esque heelless platforms is a talent in itself haha

I had a great time with Jane and her Show Pony team, Ben from Ben Scott photography and gorgeous models Jessica Banzon, Alexandra Talifero and Olena Khaluma. Thanks for having me guys!

Veet EasyWax and Blog Giveaway!

Thursday, September 13, 2012

The wonderful guys from Veet are flying me out to Melbourne this weekend, they're also giving me the chance to run a "One Night Out" giveaway for you guys! Keep reading to find out more ;)

Photobucket
[I will be updating this blog post with Melbourne pictures as I go, in the mean time follow me on Instagram @annnieo]

Spring is here! So bring on the floral blazers, loose fitting chiffons and leg-baring skirts, shorts and skorts. I think my only two gripes with this season are: 1. The dreaded hayfever and 2. Keeping the legs under control (I blame it on post-winter leg syndrome).

Although hayfever is inevitable for me, I’m glad to say I’ve found a quick and easy solution to problem number 2. Let me introduce to you my new lifesaver – Veet’s EasyWax Electric Roll-On Kit.

When I’m working 9 to 5 every week day, by the time the weekend hits and the girls want to head out for a night on the town I’ll either have to microwave my own wax, find another wax spreader and cut out strips or head to the closest beauty bar. Which means I’ll either spend more money then I need to for salon finish legs or end up with a waxy mess all over the bathroom tiles.

Veet’s EasyWax is making my life easier by:

  1. Saving me from making a mess. There’s nothing worse than getting unwanted wax on your skin and your floor!
  2. Saving me so much time. Just like waxing made easy there’s only 3 steps you’ll need to follow.
  3. Saving me money. Why spend all that money at the salon when you can just buy an EasyWax kit which will last you for multiple uses (and it’s just in your local Supermarket too!).
  4. Saves me from buying different waxes for different wax areas. Usually the wax you use for your legs you wouldn’t be able to use for more sensitive areas such as your underarm. You can use the EasyWax for your legs, arms, underarms and even bikini!
  5. Providing me with all the tools I need in one kit: Wax kit, strips and after-wax wipes.
  6. So last weekend before a Saturday night hen’s night, I whipped out my EasyWax, waxed my legs and was ready to immerse myself in my wardrobe for the next few hours so I could figure out what to do.

Photobucket

What you’ll get in your kit:

  1. Veet EasyWax roller
  2. Wax refill
  3. Cable and base
  4. Wax strips
  5. After-wax wipes

How to use it:

  1. Insert the wax refill into the roller device
  2. Connect and plug the base with the roller and turn it on. A red light will turn on to indicate that the device is heating up. Wait 20 minutes.
  3. Roll on the wax in the direction of your hair growth (just like how you’d use a roll-on deodorant)
  4. Place the strip over the wax area. Rub then pull the strip back on itself against the direction of your hair growth.
  5. Remove any residue with the wax wipes.
  6. Place the lid on the wax until you use it again. Clean, easy and simple!

"One Night Out" GIVEAWAY!
Thanks to Veet, in celebration of Veet’s new EasyWax, one of you guys will stand to win a night out at a local hotel and dinner at a local restaurant!

Just tell me in the comment section below why you think that the Veet EasyWax is a great addition to your pre-night out beauty routine. Hotel and restaurant details will be provided once winner is selected. Please refer for the Terms and Conditions here.

Bianca Gomez Backless Dress

Bianca Gomez Backless Dress by Bianca Gomez (click here to buy it from Le Black Book), ANNIEPOPSHOP gold cuffs.

Another dress and nail tutorial combo today.

I want to thank Le Black Book for making sure that my Bianca Gomez dress was personally delivered in time for the White Party I attended last weekend. I picked the Bianca Gomez backless dress in white, this dress also comes in pink which you can buy directly from here.

Bianca Gomez is the creative director for her own web-based label which she launched last year at just 19 years old. She designs amazing dresses such as the Midnight dress (which I'm obsessed with) and I can't commend her enough on her work! Show your support by buying a Bianca Gomez dress the next time you need a hot number for a night out :)

And before I leave, here is another quick and easy nail tutorial!
