Y'all know how I'm like when I see a matching set - it's an instant MUST HAVE IT moment, especially when it comes to Ruby Sees All. It's slowly emerging as one of my favourite Auslabels and I can't wait to see more of whats to come for SS14. The weather is warming up over here and I'm excited for skirts, crops and summer capes.

On another note, I also finally found my mules! I fell in love with ZARA's mules earlier this year but was a few days too late and the shoe was nowhere to be found. Then one day as I was scrolling through The Iconic I noticed a similar pair by Therapy Shoes for a fraction of the price, gosh I love a good bargain! The Iconic stock brands such as Therapy and Spurr that have shoes starting from $20 which is utterly amazing, if you haven't had a browse yet I would highly recommend it if you're always after a bargain like me :)

The Cassandra and Ellery

Wednesday, September 24, 2014

It's finally warming up in Sydney, HOORAH!! Time to bring out the lace kimonos, mini scuba bodices, skorts and strap sandals!!

Today's hump day outfit flows in order of head-to-toe as beach-to-street. I've been dying to take the Cassandra Lace Cape out for some sun but while the weather is still in-between I've given the TRIANGL bikini a miss and replaced it with it's best friend, the scuba bodice in the form of the Ellery Top by one of my new favourite labels, Black by Geng.

Following from that is a pair of white skorts similar to what you may have seen me wear a few times last season except I've replaced cotton for a leather look. The Leather Look Skorts by Glue Store is my favourite side-step from the traditional skirt because of my pear-shaped body. When you're wider around the hips, it can be a challenge to find a leather skirt with the right fit because many of them are non-stretch. These Glue Store shorts are the perfect fit for the legs with strategic front panels to suit my body shape, it's one of the many little tricks up my sleeve for Spring! What do you think of the Leather Look skorts and all the upcoming new season styles that have been dropping in Glue Stores lately? Yes? No? Would love to hear your thoughts!

And last but not least, the shoes. A rule of thumb many women follow is that the shoes and skirt must be a darker colour than the rest of your outfit in order for things to match but I beg to differ. If your outfit has a feature colour (similar to a feature wall in a room) you should complement it with feature accessories so these Camille Shoes by Wanted Shoes were the perfect cherry on top for me this week! Bring back the strap sandals for Spring I say!!!

When it comes to fashion there are three things I love the most: convenience, comfort and affordability. These three reasons are why I tend to always pick twin sets to slip into on the weekend. Lately I've also been obsessing over box-cut tops and skorts so it seems as though Forcast have read my mind in their latest SS14 drop! I also can't get over the gorgeous pale blue, its just the Spring pop I needed to break up all the monochrome left over from winter.

It's not often I come by a peplum as timeless as it is elegant. This Ruby Sees All dress is in my favourite muted purple with a boned bodice and a beautiful midi length. If you're looking for a dress to impress for this Spring Racewear season, I wouldn't go past Ruby Sees All.

Ruby is definitely the label to watch, I've fallen in love with almost every piece of their Spring/Summer drop and I can't get enough of their unique forward but feminine style.

Lace is known for being feminine, romantic and dainty so this month for Missguided's Embrace The Lace, I decided to take up the challenge of giving lace a lil' edge.... how did I go? Yes? No? Would love to hear your feedback!

I've been dying to take out the culottes which I chose for this ensemble. Once the weather picks up for Spring I'll be living in culottes and midi skirts. They're incredibly comfortable, easy to slip on, appropriate for the workplace and perfect if you haven't had time for leg maintenance yet (or if you're clumsy like me and tend to get bruises all over your legs - see previous outfit post for proof).

Missguided has an amazing range of super affordable clothes, I'll definitely be raiding the site when it gets to festival time and I'd recommend it to all of my lovely readers too :)

Arriving Soon To The Iconic: Dead Ivy Dress

Thursday, September 4, 2014

Dress by Dead Ivy // Photos by Tito Burrito
 photo ScreenShot2014-07-30at122758PM_zps260a649c.png
Soaking up the sun in this gorgeous transeasonal dress by Dead Ivy, coming soon to The Iconic!

It was so wonderful to see the sun last weekend, a gentle reminder that Spring is just around the corner and I couldn't wait to put on a midi dress without needing my stockings so as you can see - super happy to take this dress out for a whirl! It's a gorgeous scuba-like material which is perfect for gals on the go with little time to iron or steam and its a great length for work and play. Shoulders can be worn up for the more formal occasions and pulled down for the less formal occasions or a special date ;)

What do you think of midi dresses for Spring? Yes or no?
