Just use the code "May" at the checkout and enjoy the surprise box full of fashion accessories and beauty & lifestyle essentials that get delivered to your door each month.

This month's "Classic" Her Fashion Box featured:

And here is my before and after shot for the Batiste Dry Shampoo in Cherry. My hair went from greasy and flat to voluminous and fab within a few sprays. I also smell like delicious cherries which smells fresh and fruity, always a bonus. The Batiste Dry Shampoo is definitely a great quick fix on your bad hair days!

I also had the great pleasure of finally meeting the Founders of Her Fashion Box, Kath Purkis and Kerry Osborn at the Her Fashion Box Bloggers Brunch at The Grounds of Alexandria earlier this week. There was plenty of food and beautiful bloggers gathered around the HFB table which is always a surefire recipe for success. I'm so glad I got to spend time with the team and I look forward to seeing an endless blossoming journey ahead for HFB!

Today I was going to share with you pictures from Bellagio's exciting first official photoshoot. However, due to technical difficulties with my image upload function I'll have to save that for the next post. In the mean time, here are pre-uploaded photos for the 2nd Her Fashion Box for Classic girls!

My eyes twinkled this month when I saw tickets to Fashion Weekend Sydney. With the chaos of work and things at home, I haven't spent nearly enough time appreciating the art of fashion and how it brings people together so I'm excited to see what Fashion Weekend has to offer.

In the above picture I'm also wearing a silver cuff as well as Model Co's 2-in-1 lipgloss from this month's Her Fashion Box which includes gloss on one side, lipstick on the other and application mirror in the centre for easy application.

 photo modelcolipgloss_zpsdb967947.jpg photo modelcolipgloss2_zps15922acd.jpg

The lipstick and lipgloss combo creates a soft nude which goes perfectly with a nice tan! Only problem is, I've been as white as a ghost since I've been spending most of my time in the office. Which means my Bondi Sands tanning foam in Light/Medium couldn't have come at a better time. Below are swatches under natural light with no coat, one coat and two coats so you can see the fantastic streak-free gradual tan..to top it off, it smells of delicious coconut!

I've trialed the Model Co eyeliner this week and it works great for girls on the go. There's a sharpener on the cap and with a smudge brush you can easily use it as an eyeliner as well as eyeshadow. Below are swatches before and after the smudge brush was used on the first line test for the eyeliner.

As for the Schick Hydro Silk Razor, the only razors that I would recommend are those that come with their own moisturising cartridge. Otherwise, it can leave sensitive skin feeling dry, itchy and develop into ingrown hairs. These curved blades are also great for a closer shave and I'd definitely stick one in my next travel pack.

What I loved about this month's box is that it contained things that I've been meaning to treat myself to but I just haven't had time or I've been putting it off. It certainly served as a great reminder to have some "me time" which is the great thing about getting boxes delivered to your doorstep monthly. The Dean Nixon concealer brush is made of extremely fine and soft bristles and tapered edges to prevent your concealer from caking and highlighting any fine lines. Its very gentle on the skin and I haven't experienced any shedding yet, its also worked well with primer application and creme shadows so this brush can really come in handy! The mini Dean Nixon handbook will also tell you exactly how to use each brush and where you can get the whole collection.

This is a swatch of the Maybelline High Shine Lip Gloss in Gleaming Grenadine on its own but I find that it works great as a top gloss for red lippies, particularly if you have dry lips like me! The sponge applicator is easy to use and its quite pigmented for a shine gloss. Surprisingly this is my first time using Maybelline lip products and I'm fairly impressed.

 photo redken-diamond-oil_zps08bf490e.jpg
Recently my hair had undergone a balayage which means that I've had to use purple shampoo in order to prevent my hair from turning copper. The downside to this is that it really dries out my hair which can make it very unmanageable. These Redken oil treatment products are tailored specifically for dull/damaged hair and I think the main thing I've noticed from trialing these products is the hair shine. I still prefer the fragrance of my Evo products but Redken certainly adds more body and shine to your hair.

 photo moxie-collection_zps83b97b52.jpg
If you haven't seen Moxie at your local supermarket or pharmacy then I'd be very surprised! You really can't go past their cute packaging which is a great way for girls to discreetly carry Moxie products in their handbag like any other cute accessory.

 photo circa-home-everyday-wash_zpsa3c4c033.jpg
And last but definitely not the least is this incredible Circa Everyday Soap! When I first opened the parcel I was pleasantly greeted with a wonderful smell of orchids and realised shortly after that the amazing smell was from Circa's silky soft soap bar. Unfortunately I have extremely dry skin so although I do like using certain soap scents I would always have to lather myself in moisturizing body wash in between because soaps make my skin quite dry. Though, after reading that the Circa Home soap contained Sweet Almond Oil and Cocoa Butter I really couldn't resist and surprisingly my skin wasn't dry or irritated and I smelt great! I'm extremely impressed with Circa Home and I definitely want a Lilac & Orchid diffuser for my room now so I can constantly keep the scent with me!

Receiving parcels is always exciting and Her Fashion Box didn't dissapoint, I'm looking forward to whats to come! If you are too then you can also subscribe here.

Where to Get the Best Balayage for $140

The last time I blogged it was sunny, I was on my way to Vanuatu and New Caledonia and I couldn't wait to get in the sun!

 photo IMG_5266-1_zps5a4ea5c1.jpg

Now suddenly I'm draping myself in capes to shield from Australia's bipolar version of Autumn. Which I actually don't mind because I have a deep attraction to capes but the weather changes have caused me to be sick for almost an entire month and fall under the blogging radar. But I'm back now, with posts lined up for 2013 and first on the list is undoubtedly my amazing experience at the Christopher Hanna Platinum Salon in Paddington.

I would firstly like to thank the team at Christopher Hanna for inviting me to a fun night of champagne, food and pampering. I was placed in the very capable hands of their staff that helped me achieve the big lioness mane I wanted for the night!

 photo 526376_465252690197196_2110013539_n_zpsd75b94f2.jpg photo IMG_3375_zps7fa36527.jpg photo IMG_5502_zpsb2d1a8d5.jpg photo IMG_5506_zps5ceed18a.jpg   photo IMG_5590_zpsd8777e1b.jpg photo IMG_5587_zps8e6d934a.jpg

I also got the chance to talk about the biggest problem I have with my hair which is having to always curl it because it is so limp when its naturally straight. They introduced me to the Evo Builder's Paradise Working Spray which I was given as a gift to take home along with many other Evo products...and it saved my hair! I haven't needed to endure the consequences of teasing my hair for volume and I don't need to worry about limp hair if I decide to get a keratin treatment later too.

The CH team too such great care when handling my hair that I've definitely found my hairdresser of choice and I can't wait to re-do my outgrown balayage with their balayage experts :)

If you're thinking about getting a balayage, they are currently running an introductory special of $140 for all new clients and I encourage you to take my advice and grab the bull by its horns! For more details about this deal click here.

2012, The Year That Was.

Some people say that they'd rather be comfortable than wear pretty clothes, I think Boohoo challenges that statement perfectly by providing their customers with the most comfortable split pants known to mankind! If you're keen to grab some Boohoo goodies, they're currently having up to 50% off on selected items and if you enter 'EXTRAS' at the checkout you can grab yourself an extra 10% off :)

On another note, it looks like this is going to be my last blog post for the year...how did a whole calendar just slip by so fast?

2012  started off as a year so full of trials and tribulations. Looking back at the new life adjustments, new responsibilities and new friends that I've made this year, the deeper gratitude that I now feel for the current people and opportunities I have in my life fills my heart with so much love.

So, as my last blog post for the year this one will be a small keepsake of 2012.

This year I:
  • Attended my Graduation Ceremony at the University of Technology Sydney for completing my Bachelor Degree of Business
  • Walked over a pathway of 400-800 degree celcius of burning coal at Unleash The Power Within, which you can read here :-O
  • A new work opportunity was presented to me and I went from Account Manager for E-Web Marketing to Creative Director for Bellagio & Co. During the entire process and hopefully for the rest of my professional career, I've been given invaluable advice and mentorship from the CEO and COO of E-Web Marketing on how to improve my business acumen, become a better leader and a better person and I am ever so grateful for them.
  • I've met some really great bloggers and PR agencies this year, to top it off I got to go on my first sponsored trip to Melbourne, all of this thanks to my blog. Where would I be without the World Wide Web!
  • Guest Lectured the Post-Graduate Marketing class at UNSW as well as the Undergraduate Marketing students at Monash University and had a blast!
  • Was interviewed and featured in a BBC Documentary 'Generation Asia'. The camera really adds on the pounds doesn't it? Haha
  • Although I haven't had a lot of time to focus on it, I feel like I've surpassed leaps and bounds in my previous obstacles with Anniepopshop. Things are now running smoothly and wheels are turning themselves which I'm happy about!
  • My CEO and I started a non-profit organisation to inspire more people to choose happiness as a part of their every day life. It's called Punnky, which stands for Positive Uplifting News Network and within 6 weeks I generated over 70,000 fans. Hopefully by 2020 this turns into 500 million happy people :)
  • Finally commited myself towards getting fit at least 3 times a week with 3 amazing trainers and cut out a lot of bad food in my diet. With the exception of cheat days of course ;)
  • Recently I got to serve morning tea and give gifts to the residents of Charles Chambers Court for Mission Australia which really made my Christmas special!
  • Have made new relationships including one I hold dear to my heart with the last person I expected but is now the first person always on my mind :)
And in a few hours I'll be making my way to Vanuatu and New Caledonia! Have a happy and safe new year every body and remember to thank all your friends and family for sticking by you for another year of greatness :D

DIY Flower Crown

DIY Flower Crowns, Cut out dress by ASOS

I'm not sure where my recent fixation with flower crowns came from, I think it might have something to do with the fact that I spend too much time on the internet and I somehow end up browsing pictures of the different types of flower arrangements that the brides of today have been favouring..

So instead of feeling the sudden need to buy flowers, like a normal person would, I felt the need to wear the flowers.. on my head.. I don't think many of my friends will understand it but they're so quick to make and so pretty to look at that I thought I'd share it with you :)

How to Make a Flower Crown

What you'll need:

  • Fake flowers: You'll be able to find plastic and foam flowers at Spotlight, Lincraft, dollar shops and home decor stores. These particular ones are from different dollar stores & cost me around $2-3 a bunch
  • Headband
  • Felt paper
  • Hot glue gun + hot glue
  • Scissors
  • Ribbon (optional)

Photobucket
1. Cut a strip of felt paper which is going to cover the area of the headband which you want to cover with flowers. Thickness of the felt will depend on the size of the flowers you use.
Photobucket
2. Hot glue the felt to the headband. Make sure you try the felt + headband first to make sure that the felt doesn't uncomfortably sit on your head/touch your ears. Also remember to be quick when using the hot gun, it will harden really fast so I suggest you hot glue the felt and headband together a centimeter or two at a time.
Photobucket
3. Hot glue the flowers onto the felt, one flower at a time
Photobucket
4. Cut an arch felt (this will go at the back of your flowers)
Photobucket
5. Turn your flower crown around, hot glue in between the flowers
Photobucket
6. Hot glue the felt to cover the back of the flowers
Photobucket
7. If you want to decorate the back of your flower crown you can fold and hot glue some ribbon onto the back
Photobucket

And you'll have yourself a brand new flower crown! :)
