Lightning Top + Shorts by Blushop, Gold Trim Blazer by St Frock

Today are three of my favourite "right now" things combined: reflector sunglasses, lighting/cracked print and metallic detailing.

Cracked/lightning print has taken social media by a snowstorm so it wasn't going to be long before I got swept away too. This print adds an edge to the usually neutral black and white and is the perfect contrast with fitted outerwear and boots. Click here to shop the range. 

I've always been a black blazer kind of gal, if I had a blazer colour option then black would win all the time... until I saw the gold trim blazer. The rose gold tint is the perfect cherry on top for a classic fitted blazer and I love the almost boyfriend length it has on me (perks of a shorter girl). The Outfit 

Adding pops of colour to an outfit gives it a new form of life. Wish's Mineral top added another element (excuse the pun) to a once neglected jacket and skirt. Unfortunately this time around for my Wish x Honda City post, the sun only came out during the last few shots of the set so I've let the top do most of the talking instead of the setting. 

The Bag 

If you follow me on Instagram you can probably tell that I'm a Saint Laurent hoarder. Despite the dropping of the Yves, I can't get enough of the classic YSL logo and the classic clutch is always going to be on my favourites list!

The Bag 
If you're wondering why the Balenciaga Classic City Bag is so sought after, it may be because of the Balenciaga hardware details or the fact that it comes in almost every colour under the sun - black, beiges, jewel tones and more, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with its extremely lightweight feel. Feeling like little red riding hood on this chilly afternoon in this red ensemble. Although it probably wasn't wise for little red riding hood to walk through the woods alone dressed in red, its definitely one of my favourite pop colours this season and breaks up my winter monochrome closet quite well!

Fan Fair Affair

Monochrome is a timeless trend that is transeasonal and easy to wear with anything which explains why the majority of my closet is black and white, but as boring as black and white sounds - it doesn't have to be boring! 

Structured bustiers like this Fan Fair Bustier by Cooper St and finding a new use for cotton or chiffon cardigans like my favourite draped cardigan from St Frock is definitely something I'm enjoying this season.

Smile by Design

Today is all about teeeeeeth!

I've used countless teeth whitening take home kits and strips but I haven't been able to get my desired shade of white...because my stubborn little suckers are just so sensitive! The take home kits that I've trialled require the application of extra-strength whitening gel into a custom-fitted tray that is placed on my teeth every night for about two weeks. However, after the first week my teeth become extremely sensitive and I'm not able to enjoy my food (which is a huge problem for a big foodie like me!) so I've never been able to complete my 2 weeks.

I spoke to Dr Michael Tam and his team from Smile By Design and they discussed in-office teeth whitening with me and how it may suit my needs better.

How long does it take to get my results? 
In-office teeth whitening takes less than an hour every visit and needs to be repeated around 2-3 times in order to get your teeth up to 12 shades whiter.

How does it work? 
During your appointment, the dentist will apply a prescription teeth whitening gel formula to your teeth. You are then placed under a UV lamp for approximately 15 minutes to activate the whitening gel.

Since I've had issues with recovering from sensitivity, I was then given a flouride treatment to reduce sensitivity and I was able to recover from it faster than ever! To maintain the results I was given a take home kit and I'm extremely happy with my results and how my teeth look and feel :)

The Insider Cape Vest by St Frock, YSL Cassandre Tassel Bag from Reebonz , Accessories by Michael Kors and Marc Jacobs

Capes are definitely up there in my list of favourite items of clothing! But they're often hard to keep on, especially if you're a hyper-energetic little asian girl that likes to run around in the rain like I did during this photoset last week. This is why the Insider Cape Vest is my go-to cape this month, it comes attached with a black vest to help keep everything in its place.

Among other favourite things is the YSL Cassandre bag. I originally bought this YSL Cassandre in red from Bluefly.com and unfortunately for me, without reading customer reviews before purchasing - I ended up going through a long and horrible shopping experience. Not only did it take me a month to get my order, when I received the item there were scratches all over the gold hardware and black stains on the tassel.

After calling Bluefly's customer service they told me the returns department would get in contact with me which didn't happen, I lodged many customer enquiries via email with no response, I even took it up to social media where I did get a response from Bluefly to let me know that the returns department will take care of it for me but still nothing happened. I finally sent the bag back without the packing slips they were supposed to provide me for returns and only received a partial refund.....

Lesson of the day: If you're looking for a designer bag with better price tags, my recommendation is to go to Reebonz. The Outfit
I've always been a fan of mixing prints, getting the combination right can take time but once you get it, it doesn't take much to make it stand out in front of the camera! This week's outfit features leopard print mixes by St Frock with the neutral elegant touch from Saint Laurent.

I've always been quite weary about high waisted stretchy skirts because of the way it clings around the tummy area but the Wild One skirt featured in this post has a great print and twists around the waist to mask any of your problem areas and the split also takes the attention away from your mid-section and straight to your legs ;)
