Warning: Photo heavy!

Pardon my absence!

What a kickstart to my Tuesday. I woke up half an hour before class and I live an hour away from uni, I made a speedy exit from home and presented infront of a student body with my daggy stockings, bed hair and no makeup .... and for that brief moment, I wished everybody grew cataracts to cloud their eyes. I'm terrible, I know :(

Monday was eventful though, I helped my friend Kimberly with her photoshoot project which was also a great chance to finally showcase the DIY hand and body chains I've made :) the weather could have been kinder to us though!

Photos were taken and edited by Kimberly Ngo and some were edited by Quang!

Here were the materials I used to make my hand and body chains. Silver chain from Spotlight and mum's jewellery pliers. My mum makes jewellery as a side hobby and she puts me to shame! haha if this post wasn't so photo heavy I'd upload some of her little creations but I'll save that for next post :)

And to top it off, another haul. Boy is this one hell of an entry or what! Sick of me yet? :)

I mentioned a couple of times in the vid that I'd put pictures up on my blog but I haven't had the chance to snap them in the daylight yet so - will do next post! It also seems that my photobucket bandwidth has expired, piccies will be up and refreshed in about 30 or so days but for the time being I get ugly exceeded bandwidth banners. BOO!

Nails nails nails!

Friday, October 16, 2009

So, this is me celebrating my unphotogenic day. I'm not ambidextrous so the nails on my right hand are pretty deplorable, luckily thats the hand that holds the camera! Haha.

And yet another vid, a pretty useless one considering all pics + swatches are included on my blog anyway, I apologise if I've taken 9mins of your life. I wish I could give them back to you, I really do! Ahhh, but I guess the wasted effort deserves an upload... and you get to meet my little friend at the end hehe.

Collective Haul Video

After 6 days of torture I'm finally uncapped and ready to roll out this collective haul!

An entry or so back I declared myself broke, now I feel like I'm in debt and its eating at my soul! I promise from hereon that I will only purchase necessities, absolute bargains or things for Paul and I will try to grow that petty little bank balance of mine by the end of next year so that I can go and see America! Now this, THIS, is really going to test my patience... and sanity.

MAC pressies from the boyf, thankyou Paulfish :)

Micro mesh dress (American Apparel), DIY cut out fitted bandeau (inspired by thehautepursuit) , Laspampas Suede Lace Booties (C De C)

Nina, Tammy and I took a detour and stopped by American Apparel on our way back to the station after Jimmy's exhibition and I was over the moon to finally have hold of the longsleeved mesh dress! I cut out an old bandeau I had lying around to wear underneath but I'm not sure how confident I am sporting these cut outs in public, I'd probably take it out with a long fitted bandeau instead - just to play it safe! haha

Last night was Wendy's birthday. I met Wendy briefly last year for a group assignment and in this passing year we've worked at the last two places together, attended the same interviews, shared the same classes, group assignments and missed some of our exams together (then passed eachother notes in our alternate exam LOL) and as of last night I can also add - peer pressured amelia to drink together - to our list of a blossoming friendship hahaha!

Happy Birthday Wendy Zhou!!

I've taken my camera out on both occassions this week but it hasn't been a photogenic week, maybe I'll leave them for my facebook's eyes only haha, hope everyone had a great weekend!

I also wanted to quickly fit in here a little thankyou to Kelly giving me the Star Award, definitely check her blog out! She's got killer style and oh, did I mention she's also stunningly gorgeous! Hahaha

And with all that aside it's been getting rather dusty in here, time for some more housekeeping! Looks like my collective haul entry will be delayed until next entry, which will probably be excrutiatingly long. The girls and I have recently been getting a rush from nail polish splurging hahaha

Anonymous: annieooooo could you do a review of the benefit high beam and moon beam? thankyou (L)
Will do! Although there also are plenty of good reviews on the tube already so check them out, they'll probably help a great deal more than I could! :)

Anonymous: can i please ask where you get your URBAN DECAY PRIMER POTION from??? because i've been looking for it everywhere in Sydney and I just cannot find it!!and where do you buy your false lashes from? i bought like 200 in vietnam but they're diminishing and i need to restock. any suggestions??
I bought my UDPP from ebay, I would also wish to know where on earth they stock Urban Decay in Sydney :( and my falsies are also from Vietnam! hahaha, we often have relatives that travel back and forth from there to get them for us in cheap bulk but if you wanted to restock on them, last time I saw cheap false lashes they were in a store in Cabramatta that also sold hair products. I have no idea what it's called, but definitely pop in and out of Cabra stores and I'm sure you'll be able to find them! Industrie8 also have decent cheap falsies, if anyone has any suggestions then leave them in the comment box :)

Anonymous: Where can you buy NYX? and what do you think of each the MAC studio fix & studio tech foundations?:)
In some places in Aus they sell NYX in Gloss stores but I haven't seen NYX in any Gloss stores in Sydney so far :( the place where I get NYX things from is a small local perfume and hair wholesaler which name has escaped me but it was first introduced to me by my great friend Tammy hahaha. I've done a lot of searches for good cosmetics wholesalers online and contacted a few stores but most of them don't sell to the general public and in these cases I settle for purchasing things I can't find locally online. Will also do a review on MAC studio fix & tech foundations!

lolizzie: i noticed you used the clean and clear pimple pen, does it work for you?
To be honest, it isn't a great deal of help to clear my pimples - even toothpaste works better haha

Anonymous: loving the minkpink sleepwalker tank... it looks oversized. what size is it you're wearing? thinking of buying online :)
Hello Anonymous! The minkpink sleepwalker tank does look oversized but its actually an XS, I actually bought mine online too! hehehe

Anonymous: Hi What do you use MAC MSF's for and what do you think of the Shiseido cream foundation/other Shisheido foundations? If you hold your hair back when doing makeup, doesnt it ruin your hair?
I'll make sure to do a vid on the MAC MSF's, I'm completely in love with them! As for the Shiseido cream foundation its a pleasant foundation, it does its job well and doesn't dry out my skin but its pretty sheer though and wouldn't work well as a full coverage foundation. The Shiseido Sun Protection Foundation stick from what I've heard has gotten rather good reviews so I might give that a go again - the reason why I was never really fond of it the first time around was because I got it in the wrong colour! haha silly me.

Sarah: Hey where did you get your dressing table from?! I've been lookin everywhere for a plain nice white one.
The dressing table was a cheap find in IKEA, goodluck on your dressing table hunt Sarah!

em: Hi Annie,I was just wondering how often you use you LV Vernis Amarante bag?
In all honesty, recently I've hardly used it at all. The top handle is pretty inconvenient considering the bag is quite large and when I do take it out with me it's pretty heavy and I guess my paranoia of the vernis leather getting scratches and stains on it gets in the way of its use too. My mum uses it all the time though, I'm pretty sure she's rightfully claimed her ownership over it hahaha

Anonymous: wat does the fix plus do? and could u pleaseeeee do a vid showing the pieces in ur wardrobe. i commented this before but i dont know what happened to it :(
I think I'll do a review on the fix plus :) But as for a wardrobe vid hmmm, I'm on the fence about that one. My wardrobe is pretty boring to be honest! hahaha

Anonymous: Wow, those videos made me dizzy! LOLYour voice is adorabbbbbbble. :)Have you ever thought about selling your things at Glebe markets? Otherwise, I'd like to know where you sell your things? Ebay?
Hahahaha I apologise for the dizzyness and any type of nausea I have caused! I was thinking of selling my things on ebay, I keep saying this over and over again but I never quite get around to it lol I should soon though - I need the extra $$ in my pocket! If I haven't gotten around to selling things on ebay still, I don't think I'd ever get around to setting up a stall in Glebe to sell my things ahhhhh, laziness that great friend of mine haha.

So in my room tour vid I mentioned we had guests over which meant I had first priority to some of the food we were serving, so I took my share of sashimi and oysters before the guests arrived and thoroughly enjoyed my mini seafood feast mmmmm oysters. I'll have you know though that excessive raw seafood gives you severe stomach pains. HAHA

MAC Style Black

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

So I've been sick for the past week or so but that hasn't stopped me from blogging and getting up on my feet to the closest MAC for Style Black. I did have other plans for my second clip but bear with me through this boring, choppy vlog and my post-nasal voice hahaha

I've also grabbed a few other things over the week so my next update will probably be a collective haul (I'm still waiting for one more package to arrive!). Uni has also started again and I have an exam to sit this coming Thursday so I'm definitely feeling the pressure :( Can't wait for stress free summer holidays!
