In a few hours time I'll be boarding a plane on my way to Shanghai to witness a long and dear friend finally get hitched!!! I can hardly contain my excitement and hopefully I can take a few snaps when I'm overseas and upload my memories along the way.

Thank you Shilla the Label for keeping me nice and toasty in this oversized cardi for my trip. It'll be my Shanghai uniform, no doubt!

Ever felt so comfortable in your clothes that you could wear them forever? That's how I feel when I put on culottes, flat zip boots and 100% rayon tops.

A perfectly covered but breezy combination, great for the unpredictable Sydney weather.

Shilla - Mirage Animal Pattern Biker Jacket

As much as I love leopard print, its not often that I come across leopard spotted outerwear that didn't make me look like the crazy cat lady (although, we all know that deep down I really am...) but there's not much that I can fault about Shilla's Mirage Animal Pattern Biker Jacket. In fact, I adored it so much that it even lead me to break one of my golden rules - to steer clear of jeggings.

There's nothing that hides a sore eye better than a pair of reflector sunglasses. Not too long after these photos were taken did I suffer from a large swollen eye infection so I thank these shades for protecting me from the dirt and dust from the howling winds on Sydney on this sunny afternoon! Mydressroom.co.uk have an amazing range of sunglasses, be sure to check their site out for more specs!

The High Waisted Friends
These high waisted jeggings were a cheap buy on a cold day from Glassons after the fateful moment when my accessories became prisoner to my stockings and broke free by laddering it up to the thighs. The jeggings were a quick rescue on the day and they proved to be a pretty alright companion today.

Fan Fair Affair

Fan Fair Bustier by Cooper St, Long Cardigan by St Frock, Shorts by Shilla, Shoes by Tony Bianco

Monochrome is a timeless trend that is transeasonal and easy to wear with anything which explains why the majority of my closet is black and white, but as boring as black and white sounds - it doesn't have to be boring!

Structured bustiers like this Fan Fair Bustier by Cooper St and finding a new use for cotton or chiffon cardigans like my favourite draped cardigan from St Frock is definitely something I'm enjoying this season.

Long black cardigans are a staple that is often worn casually and in between layers but don't be afraid to mix it up a little. Try draping that cardigan over your shoulders like a cape, it can change a whole outfit and you'll be able to find a whole new use for your favourite cardis!

Shilla - Evolution Monochrome

Friday, March 14, 2014

Today's outfit features a hint of tailored aesthetics with two of my favourites from the Shilla Evolution Monochrome collection click here to view the full range. I'm really embracing the short suit trend for the upcoming season, they're perfect for the weather and extending your leg length and the un-creasing nature of this polyester suit is just the perfect cherry on top!

I wore this short suit as a casual weekend outfit with a DIY wrap top but if you're after a more polished look then all you need to do is slick back your hair, add some lippy, belt the shorts and wear some heels ;)

Dusk Contrast Shorts by Shilla

Have you ever found the most perfect pair of zip up summer shorts but you couldn't fit the right top to show them off? I was faced with this dilemma over the weekend and decided to take it to my own hands (literally). The wrap crop featured in this post with the gorgeous Dusk Contrast Shorts by Shilla is a makeshift top made out of an old black scarf :-O

The gorgeous Dusk Contrast Shorts are currently available in white (pictured above) and black (on website). Undoubtedly these are one of my favourite picks from their New Arrivals!

Oasis Floral Maxi Dress by Shilla // Photos by Tito-licious

My two favourite prints from the latest Shilla collection include the oasis floral and the refraction floral, so I guess you can say that my floral obsession is starting to creep back!

I had a lot of fun spinning around in the dress on a large open field but unfortunately I couldn't keep my eyes open in the sun so we unexpectedly ended up in an abandoned shed for most of our photo set. The contrast between the backdrop and the oasis floral print definitely made my job easier and most importantly... it was oh so comfortable! :)

Scarily enough, during this short photo session, a fire had been set off at a nearby carpark which engulfed about 40 cars in the parking lot and cut our day short. We were lucky to not be within the vicinity of the accident but its definitely scary to know what the sweltering heat can do!

Although I didn't end up with many photos with this incredible dress by Shilla, I am definitely grateful we were safe and out of harm's way.

And seeing as the heat has been creeping its way into our daylight savings, I thought it was only fitting to start sharing posts featuring dresses for the Summer. With all the celebratory occasions ahead I'll be making sure I keep an eye out for "the dress" and the "the back-up". This one is definitely going in "the dress" pile ;)

And just in case you were wondering if it came in other colours, it is also available in Cream/Lavendar and Cream Black at Shilla.
