It's going to take a lot more than the rampant wind to steer me away from white crop tops and checkered skirts! I've been in a bit of a monochrome groove lately, mainly because black and white separates are so easy to mix and match but it can be quite hard to make a monochrome outfit POP on camera (and you know anniepop is all about the pop!) which is why shape and print is key. The asymmetric hem of the Blushop Checkered Skirt is a nice twist on a classic grid print. The Bag 
I've got way too many big bulky bags and not enough casual bags like this Givenchy Pandora Bag in black. I picked up this gorgeous thing from Reebonz on Sunday at their Sydney Concept store on George St - it was also available in grey, maroon and navy but black was definitely my first pick.

I love popping by the Reebonz store, it's the one stop shop for my favourite designer labels under one roof - Saint Laurent, Givenchy, Celine, Hermes and Chanel just to name a few. It's also the only store that I know of selling genuine pre-loved designer bags. If you're ever in the CBD you should definitely pop by!

Back in Action!

...aaaand I'm back! With some awkward tan lines from the Bahamas and shopping blisters from Vegas and Florida, charming, I know. For the first half of my trip I spent most of my time wrapped up in a coat then skipping straight to the swimmers once we hopped on the Royal Princess and cruised around the Bahamas. So as you can imagine, it feels great to be back home in perfect Australian weather with a beautiful chiffon dress in the mail courtesy of the lovely people from Chicnova.

The reason why I love chiffon is because no matter how you wear it, it will drape over you beautifully and comfortably. Morange and Sunny Days

Spring is here and I'm on the hunt for more colours, prints, stripes and short suit sets! I haven't exactly found my short suit set yet but I couldn't pass the retro printed skorts and took them out for a whirl today with some orange stripes and a new camera lens.

I'm still adjusting to taking photos outside. Bloggers don't usually talk about it but yes it does get awkward when strangers pass by and wonder why you're taking photos by yourself..... but it felt so good to get some Vitamin D and I can't wait to see the flowers in full bloom soon!

The last time I blogged it was sunny, I was on my way to Vanuatu and New Caledonia and I couldn't wait to get in the sun!



Now suddenly I'm draping myself in capes to shield from Australia's bipolar version of Autumn. Which I actually don't mind because I have a deep attraction to capes but the weather changes have caused me to be sick for almost an entire month and fall under the blogging radar. But I'm back now, with posts lined up for 2013 and first on the list is undoubtedly my amazing experience at the Christopher Hanna Platinum Salon in Paddington.

I would firstly like to thank the team at Christopher Hanna for inviting me to a fun night of champagne, food and pampering. I was placed in the very capable hands of their staff that helped me achieve the big lioness mane I wanted for the night!

  

I also got the chance to talk about the biggest problem I have with my hair which is having to always curl it because it is so limp when its naturally straight. They introduced me to the Evo Builder's Paradise Working Spray which I was given as a gift to take home along with many other Evo products...and it saved my hair! I haven't needed to endure the consequences of teasing my hair for volume and I don't need to worry about limp hair if I decide to get a keratin treatment later too.

The CH team too such great care when handling my hair that I've definitely found my hairdresser of choice and I can't wait to re-do my outgrown balayage with their balayage experts :)

Vintage Blues

When my grandmother and I lived together, she'd often come into my room and ask me to paint her nails. As a thank you gift she would give me some hair rollers or leave hand-me-downs on my bed from her closet. Although I haven't quite found a use for some of the shoulder padded neons (that she must have kept from her wild child days! haha), there is one bright blue scalloped blazer that I'm beginning to warm up to. I guess it makes this outfit "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" -  thank you grandma :)

For those that have Liked my Facebook page, you may have noticed my recent posts about Joe Button. A few weeks back I attended the Online Retailer Industry Awards and along with the great food and company, I was able to meet some new and amazing people including Melissa and Modi - the girls behind Joe Button.

This week, the M&M gave me the wonderful opportunity of visiting the Joe Button office to catch up over coffee and design my very own shirtdress!

In case you haven't heard of Joe Button, they sell custom-fitted men's and women's shirts as well as women's shirtdresses. So if you've been struggling to find the right size and style for workwear then their site lets you design your own shirt/shirtdress by allowing you to mix and match different designs, colours, fabrics and even initial embroidery.

While I was at their office designing my shirtdress, I was able to scour through and then compulsively clean their swatch pile haha. I had such a good morning with the Joe Button team and the fun has only just begun since I'm now eagerly anticipating the arrival of my new shirtdress! Another highlight of last week was attending the 18th Biennale of Sydney on Cockatoo Island. Biennale comes around once every two years and it is Australia's biggest festival of contemporary art. Below are glimpses from three of my favourite exhibits. 

The ferry to Cockatoo island is free and there is no charge to see the exhibits so if you have a spare weekend to soak in some some sun and contemporary art, hop on that ferry!
